"Yes sir, I will be a three year starter," Nwachukwa said. "My stats last year weren't as good as my sophomore year because we had Dan Buckner, but I still received honorable mention all-district both years."
Nwachukwa had 37 receptions for 617 yards and two touchdowns as a sophomore, narrowly missing on sophomore of the year honors in his district to Rex Burkhead. As a junior he hauled in 22 receptions for 335 yards and six scores.
"I think that I have good ability as a wide receiver," said Nwachukwa. "I am good at route running, I have good speed, I can break tackles and I have good hands."
To date, Nwachukwa is sitting on around 25 offers. While Nwachukwa says that he is staying open and looking at everyone he admits that there is a short list of schools that pique his interest.
When Nwachukwa makes his decision he will be looking at playing time, location and chemistry with the coaching staff. He is figuring a lot of that out through past trips and has set up trips to some other schools this summer.
"I have been to Texas A&M twice, once for their spring game and once for junior day. I also went to a practice at Oklahoma. This summer I am planning on making more trips.
"I am going to Texas camp, going to Notre Dame, Colorado, Texas A&M again, Arkansas and Kansas. I am still working on some plans to maybe visit Nebraska."
While the Huskers appear to be on the outside looking in with Nwachukwa for a visit this summer it's not because he isn't interested. The Nebraska coaches have been saying the right things to him.
"I speak to Coach J.P. (John Papuchis) a lot. Nebraska is a school that I definitely interested in. I am just not sure right now when I will be able to visit. I am still working on that one.
"I know from talking to Coach J.P. that Nebraska is looking to open up their offense and throw the ball. They need wide receivers and I know about the new coaches that Nebraska has."
All schools that are recruiting Nwachukwa as a wide receiver with the exception of Virginia. Virginia has told Nwachukwa that they like him on the defensive side of the ball at cornerback.
