"I have offers from Ole Miss, UTEP, Utah and Nebraska," Evans said. "Those are really the four big ones on my list. I have a couple of other offers too, but I am concentrating on those four and especially Nebraska."
There are two reasons why Nebraska is so high on Evans' list and they both have to do with the Nebraska coaching staff. The Huskers have an effective recruiting coach and a defensive minded head coach that Evans likes.
"The coach that came out here from Nebraska and I had a good conversation. He changed my mind on some things and knocked out some other things.
"The main thing I like about Nebraska is that the head coach, Bo Pelini, came from LSU and was their defensive coordinator. Most schools are about offense. He knows defense. I like that and trust him."
Evans is effective at stopping the run and rushing the passer. Out of his tackles, most came from stopping the run, but admits that nothing is like getting a quarterback sack.
"Most of my tackles are from stopping the run, but I love rushing the quarterback. I have a friend and we work every day on rushing the quarterback. I play the run real well though.
"I ended the season with 87 tackles and 16 sacks. I was second team all-district and I led our team in tackles."
There haven't been any trips for Evans so far this year, but if he has his way he will take a couple this summer. Even if he does get to visit these two schools he will still take official visits to these schools as well this fall.
"I talked to my mom and we are trying to get to Utah and Nebraska this summer. It's a plane ticket and I am working on that. I am pretty sure I will take official visits there."
