Ash comments on situation

Players that have taken a lot of trips during the spring and summer usually do so because they want to commit before the season. It starts out that way and then sometimes seeing allows for a list to get trimmed, but then also provides another need to get the top teams to separate themselves a little bit. That separation is usually done with an official visit.

Nick Ash has been working hard this summer. Between the actual rigors of getting ready for the season, the 6-foot-5 and 275-pound offensive lineman from Keller (Texas), has been working on his college decision with a lot of trips.

"I have narrowed things down a little bit," Ash said. "I will probably narrow things down a little bit more around August. I will then take a couple of official visits and compare from there."

Ash has taken a lot of visits from the spring through the summer. Through those trips he has a list of about five schools that have risen to the top in his eye.

"I would say that I have things narrowed down to Nebraska, Purdue, Texas Tech, Arizona and Vanderbilt. I would say those are my top schools."

Now, all of those five schools might not get official visits necessarily. As of right now, Ash is really looking at taking just three visits and then he thinks a decision will follow.

"I know that I want to take one to Nebraska and Purdue. I will probably take one to Texas Tech too. Those are probably the three that I wanted to take for sure."

Ash attended the Nebraska spring game when he said that Nebraska was at the top in comparison to the other schools he had seen to that point. At that point, Ash had seen Arizona and Vanderbilt of his favorites.
