"Yes sir, I was in Lincoln today," Davis said. "It went really well up there. Everything was excellent. I sat down and got to talk to Coach Barney Cotton for a good while.
"He let me know exactly where I stand and how everything was with recruiting. I talked to Bo Pelini and he told me the same thing and took me on the tour, along with the staff."
That type of attention seems like a lot. It caught Davis off-guard and admitted that he got the red carpet treatment. "Oh yes, I got a lot of attention from the staff there in Lincoln today. It was a lot more than I expected, actually."
Nebraska let Davis know where they were exactly with him. There is a need for Davis to pick it up a little bit in the classroom as well as on the test before Nebraska can think about offering.
"I am a little bit, not too far, but a little bit off with my ACT score. They said that if I just bring that up a little bit along with GPA then I will be fine. I am about 3 points away."
The Huskers are typically a lifelong dream for players in the state of Nebraska to get an offer from. That isn't necessarily the case for Davis, but as time goes on he admits that they have grown on him.
"Actually, as time as gone on for me and going through the recruiting process I am starting to like Nebraska more and more. I actually think about them a lot. I want their offer because I want that option."
There aren't any offers yet for Davis and that is probably due in large part to his academic situation. However, there are still a handful of very good teams looking at him right now from the Big 12 North.
