Green will take official to Nebraska

Nebraska is looking to grab as many players from Texas as they possibly can and it looks like there are a lot that have Nebraska listed in their favorites. One player that likes Nebraska a lot, especially their defensive minded head coach, is Andrew Green. Green is going to see Nebraska a little closer this fall on an official visit to see if Lincoln is the right place for him.

San Antonio (Texas) Madison is home to one of the best cornerbacks in the state of Texas. Andrew Green has gotten out a little bit this summer to see a school and saw his second this past weekend.

"It's going really good," Green said. "I went to the Baylor camp this weekend. I took an unofficial visit this summer to Kansas and that is about it."

Green is sitting on almost double-digit offers right now. Most of the schools that have offered are from the Big 12 with some interest from the Big 10 and Conference USA.

"I have nine offers right now. They are from Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Purdue, Houston, Iowa State, Colorado, Texas A&M and Baylor."

Green doesn't have a lot of information or taken enough visits to separate the schools that have offered him. Green does know which schools seem to be the most interested in him and his services.

"Not really. I just know the ones that give me the most attention; the ones that really want to get to know me and stuff. The two that are recruiting me the hardest right now are Nebraska and Iowa State.

"When Nebraska called me in the spring after they had just seen my tape, they passed the phone to all the coaches. Nebraska is always writing me and emailing me."

Green says that there isn't a need to stay closer to home. However, when it comes to Nebraska, he will need to take an official visit there this fall to get a better idea about Nebraska.

"Nebraska isn't too far away. I just need to take an official visit to Lincoln to see what it's like. I will take an official visit there. I want to meet the people and see if I can fit in."

Besides knowing that Nebraska is further north than Kansas is and is in the Big 12, Green doesn't know a lot about him. However, he is aware of the new head coach at Nebraska has a history of having good defenses.

"Not really. I know that Bo Pelini is there and came from LSU. I know that he is a defensive minded coach and has had success as a defensive coordinator wherever he's been.

"I like their style of defense. It's the type of defense where everyone has to play their part. Everyone has blitzes, but his defense works. It works wherever he goes."
