Colorado safety is wide open

One of the faster rising names in recruiting might be Alex Logan. Logan plays for one of the traditional powers in Colorado at Denver Mullen. Logan is sitting on a double-digit offer total with more offers seemingly close to being extended. Logan says that there isn't anyone standing out right now and will need some visits to make a decision.

Denver (Colo.) Mullen high school is one of the top programs year in and year out in the state of Colorado. One of the top players on the team for '08 is safety Alex Logan. Logan (6-2/198/4.5), who claims 13 offers at this point, says he has just been getting ready for the season ahead.

"I have 13 offers right now," said Logan. "I haven't gone to any camps, I've just been lifting this summer three or four times a week. I've also been running with the team in some 7 on 7. We had a padded camp at school about a month ago and it was pretty tough."

Alex expects all that hard work to payoff this year when his Mullen team takes the field.

"Our team is looking real good this year. Our linemen are really starting to come together as a unit, and our running back situation is always looking good. I actually think we are going to win state."

While Logan might have a clear outlook on his high school squad, the recruiting picture is still a little fuzzy.

"I don't have one school that sticks out above the others yet," said Logan. "They are all coming at me pretty hard right now. I don't really have any favorites at the moment, they're all pretty equal. I'll probably narrow it down right before my season starts. Then take some officials and make a decision."

With over a dozen schools coming at him, Logan was asked if anything stood out about the Husker offer.

"I like Bo Pelini a lot, I like his style. I know he is going to bring that defense back. When a team has a great defense they always have a chance to be one of the top teams in the nation."

So of course Nebraska is very attractive to me since I'm a safety. Every time somebody interviews me from any website, I always tell them that Bo Pelini is going to bring the program back to dominance. I really mean that."

When the time does come to pick a school, Logan says several things will play into his decision.

"Really academics, and I also have to like the coaches. The way the coaches interact with the players will be really important to me, I want to be on a close team. Location really won't be a factor for me. I also want to be on a team headed in the right direction."

With offers from Nebraska, Colorado, California, Texas Tech, Washington, a new offer from Oregon and a host of others, Logan say's he'll take a 'few' official visits before deciding. He also runs track for Mullen, and reports a 10.9 100 meter. Big Red Report will continue to keep you updated on the recruitment of Alex Logan.
