A top 5 for Knile Davis

There are just too many offers to name for 4-star Texas running back, Knile Davis (6-1/209), and he says he is ready to trim his list of schools. With the end of the summer right around the corner and just a few days left before his senior year starts, Davis went in-depth with Big Red Report to give us the latest on his top five favorite schools.

Knile Davis, from Fort Bend (Tex.) Marshall, has offers from all of the major programs around the country and is one of the top prospects in the state of Texas. With so many offers, the task of trimming the list could seem daunting to some, but at some point it's something every player in his situation must do.

"Yes sir, actually I do have a top 5 now," said Davis. "I've been breaking down my list and thinking about it real hard. Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arkansas, LSU and Missouri are my final five."

Those are all real good schools that I could see myself playing for. Those will be my five officials."

With those schools picked you might think the pressure on Knile is gone, but for him it's just beginning.

"I'm glad I have my schools set, but now I have to get ready for my team. I've also been working out with my trainer real hard this summer; I really want to have my body ready for the season."

For any high school RB, the offensive system being used by the school has to be something that is considered before picking a college. Davis says he already has an idea what kind of system he wants to play in.

"I want go to a school like Nebraska or Oklahoma, where I know they're going to run the ball. I wouldn't want to go to a school like Texas Tech. I will be considering offensive schemes when I pick a school."

I definitely think Nebraska is one of the best schools for me. They've had a lot of great running backs."

Even though Davis wasn't able to make it to see the Huskers this summer, it appears a later date has been set.

"I couldn't get up to Nebraska during the summer because of money reasons, but I wanted to. I talked to coach Ekeler about setting up a visit. We both looked at our schedules and he said we'd set up a visit before my season starts."

I'm supposed to be coming to Nebraska Labor Day weekend. Nebraska will be the first visit I take."

Davis stated he was being recruited "hard" by Coach Mike Ekeler, and has plans to give Coach Tim Beck a call soon so they can "talk about some things". Big Red Report will continue to bring you information on Davis's recruitment as it comes in.
