Huskers to host California TE

The number of recruiting target misses at the tight end position over the past four years or so issunstantial. The Huskers have a need for a long-bodied, pro-style tight end to help diversify am a;ready complicated offense to defend. J.T. Kerr could be that player.

J.T. Kerr is the type of tight end that Nebraska can use, immediately. Kerr, a 6-foot-4 and 240-pound target from San Diego (Calif.) Scripps Ranch, will be in Lincoln tomorrow.

"Things are going good," Kerr said. "It's been nice here, a little warm. We just booked our flight to Nebraska!

"I think that the itinerary is to take off on Friday night, visit Nebraska on Saturday and then come home on Sunday."

This will Kerr's first trip out to Nebraska. Nebraska has been in their persuit of Kerr and he is interested in getting a closer look at the Huskers.

"I am really looking forward to getting a chance to mesh with the coaches, to get to know them a little bit.

"I am also excited to get to watch their practices on Saturday, I think that they practice twice. I am really amped for that.

"I also want to get a look at the facilities up there at Nebraska, I have heard stories, but I really want to just get an idea how it feels."

Kerr is heading up to Nebraska with his father. "He is just excited about it all. He's as excited as I am. He's never been there anyway."

Kerr will be one of the primary targets for Tate Forcier this fall after only 12 receptions, 146 yards and a touchdown last year in a run-oriented offense at another school.
