Ready to get it over with?

All it took was a little summer tour and Brent Qvale went home with three more offers. Ironically, one of the teams that offered him extended the offer without actually seeing him in person. Now, it seems, Qvale might be ready to get the commitment out of the way. The season is rapidly approaching and Qvale finalized a visit date today and that might be the weekend he commits.

Brent Qvale, a 6-foot-7 and 300-pound offensive tackle, from Williston (N.D.) was just getting home from practice. The season is coming up for Qvale and that is a good thing according to him.

"It's good to get back out there," Qvale said. "It's excited. It's good to get back out there and finally get this season going.

"I have been playing a lot of basketball recently. Lots of open gym. Getting ready for both seasons. It's a great way to get in shape."

Official visits are becoming a hot topic and Qvale just happened to finalize his first visit today. "August 30th I am headed to Nebraska.

"It will be for Western Michigan, the season opener. The coaches were telling me that it's a perfect weekend. It's a night game and it's great to travel."

The night game makes it possible for Nebraska to bring in a lot more visitors that if the game was before 2:00 wouldn't be able to make it in. Qvale would have been one of those people.

"We actually have our opener the night before I got to Lincoln, August 29th. We didn't do too well last year, but we have a lot of guys back this season.

"Today, our first day, was probably the furthest along we have been on the first day. That is, since I have been here. We were very young last year.

"I think that we will be good and probably get the state playoffs. It would be nice to say title, but that's tough. I am thinking playoffs for sure."

The process begins to wear on people. By the sounds of it, there is a benefit to be able to get up to Nebraska so early in the year so that if he commits he has the rest of the season to focus on.

"Yeah, I am thinking that I could commit that weekend. It would be nice to kind of get it out of the way."
