Randle set to see Nebraska

There is usually some uneasiness by fans when it comes to getting a commitment from a recruit that hasn't visited or seen the campus yet. Committing sight unseen takes a leap of faith. Or better yet, buying into the ideal that the team and the coach presents to you. That is exactly what happened with Thaddeus Randle, but he is going to get to see Nebraska soon enough.

The feeling of getting back on a football field is indescribable. Thaddeus Randle, a Nebraska commitment from Galena Park (Texas) North Shore, says that his time spent working out this summer has paid off.

"It's good to get back out there," Randle said. "I wanted to work on my speed this summer. I am about 6-foot-2 and 250-pounds right now. I know that I am fast now, but you can always get faster, quicker."

Randle was the third commitment in the Nebraska class; committing way back in May. Randle committed sight unseen, basically on Coach Mike Ekeler's words, but in October he will get a chance to see Lincoln.

"I set up an official visit to Nebraska to see them in October. I am going to go up there on that first weekend in October, October 3.

"I am looking forward to seeing the school and talking to the coaches. I am really looking forward to seeing the stadium and the facilities."

Saturdays in Lincoln are pretty special and Randle knows it. He knows about the support that the team gets and he is interested in seeing it first hand.

"Everyone is going to be there. That is what they do there, they support their football team, so the crowd is going to be going crazy."

Randle has been staying in touch with Nebraska and he knows that the staff likes him as a player. There is a real positive vibe coming to him too from the coaching staff about the upcoming season in Lincoln.

"I have been staying in pretty good touch with Coach Mike Ekeler. He has been telling me that they are real excited to get me down there.

"He has been telling me that they are going to have a great team this year and that I am going to see it on my official visit."
