Davis eyeing early official visit

Knile Davis has been hard-pressed to find weekends to take official visits because of a tight season schedule. Now with one visit set in stone it seems another could be around the corner. Two Big 12 North teams seem to be the two schools that Davis will visit before the end of the season at Missouri City (Texas) Marshall High School.

Last time Big Red Report spoke to four-star running back Knile Davis, from Missouri City (Texas) Marshall High School, he was making tentative plans to take an early official visit to Nebraska.

"I didn't think I was going to be able to make it up to Nebraska for their first game weekend for my official, so I thought I might have to reschedule until after my season.

"But now it looks like I might be able make it for their season opener. I should know for sure once I talk to coach Mike Ekeler."

Knile did mention one visit he will take before his season concludes.

"Missouri will be the only other visit during my season. It just so happens our Hightower game (September 18) that week falls on a Thursday.

"So I'll have that Friday, Saturday and Sunday off to take that visit. Our last game is November 8th, so my other visits will have to be after that."

He also recently garnered some attention off the field, while running into a future opponent on it.

"I was just down at the Touchdown Club in Houston. They give out a preseason award to the best 20 something players in the Houston area, and I was on the list.

I talked to a player from Lamar, we play them in our first game. He said they are pretty good and they are ready for me. I said don't worry, I'm ready for you."

Big Red Report will continue to bring you latest on Davis's recruitment and his official visit status for this weekend.
