Pierre-Paul sees Nebraska

At 6-foot-5 and 255-pounds, it wasn't difficult to pick out which of the visitors this past week Jason Pierre-Paul was. Even though Pierre-Paul is just a standout at the junior college level, he has the physical appearance of being a potential All-American at the division one level. Pierre-Paul had some comments for the weekend visit to Nebraska.

Jason Pierre-Paul is a busy person and is very hard to reach. Head Coach Jeffrey Sims from Fort Scott (Kans.) acknowledged that he has received many calls from schools such as Nebraska, LSU and Tennessee inquiring about Pierre-Paul.

Coach Sims was able to facilitate an interview with Pierre-Paul and Big Red Report. Pierre-Paul saw Nebraska this past weekend in the win over San Jose State with his teammates Brandon Kinnie and Jacquian Williams.

"The visit was nice," Pierre-Paul said. "The coaches were nice and treated me well at Nebraska. They all seemed very down to Earth and friendly."

While Pierre-Paul got a good chance to see the school, campus and town of Lincoln on his visit to Nebraska, he can't adequately say if what Nebraska has to offer will allow him to fit in the school and with the community.

"The visit to Nebraska was my first visit. I need to compare it to some other visits, but it will have to wait until after the end of the season. Nebraska's visit was on a bye week.

"I appreciate the Nebraska staff having me up for a visit last week. I am still trying to figure out what I am looking for in a school and can't really rate the visit because it was only my first visit."

The Husker staff was at least able to get Pierre-Paul and his teammates up for an official visit and that is a good sign. What might be a better sign for Nebraska is if Nebraska can get any of the players from Fort Scott that visited to eventually commit.
