Huskers wrap up practices for the week

The Huskers started out at Hawks Championship Indoor Center, but finished up in Memorial as they wrap up practices in preparation for their Saturday-night game against New Mexico State.

As we reported yesterday, senior offensive tackle Lydon Murtha is expected to start this weekend against New Mexico State. Also potentially going will be junior safety Rickey Thenarse. Thenarse has been sidelined, stemming from an injury on the first kickoff for the Huskers against San Jose State, but he's slowly been making it back. Head Coach Bo Pelini said that he hopes that they won't need Thenarse for the game. "I think he'll be available," Pelini said of Thenarse. "Hopefully we won't have to use him. We'll see."

Coach Pelini said that they are expecting five official visitors this weekend, but if you check out the latest updates from Big Red Report, the situation with two of the potential visitors has changed. Based on everything we know as of right now the list of those expected to come in is down to three:

Athlete Rex Burkhead, Cornerback Gabe Lynn and Tight End J.T. Kerr.

Nebraska will participate in a walkthrough tomorrow. The game is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 P.M. central time and will be aired on Fox Sports Net Pay-Per-View.

The Hukers are currently 25 1/2 point favorites over the Aggies.
