With all the gossip flying around about Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert running back, David Oku, Big Red Report spoke to the talented running back to get his thoughts on the rumors and what lies ahead for this dynamic player. And as always, David put everything out on the table and gave us his true feelings on the subject.

David Oku, one of the top running backs in the nation, has heard all the rumors about his recruitment. But according to David, he's not getting caught up in all the hype. He is just taking things day by day.

"Yeah I'm just kind of chillin' right now, watching these gas prices rise," said Oku. "I'm concentrating more on my season right now than recruiting. We played pretty good in our second game last week against Choctaw. I tell you what too, that team was talking a lot of smack and I really don't know why, but we went ahead and took it to them.

"Since we got our butt beat in our opening game, we aren't going to show any mercy, I'm playing pissed off from now on."

Recently a report came out stating David was set to announce his college choice this week and that he was a lock for Tennessee, but David says some things weren't true.

"People say I was going to commit to Tennessee, but I don't know where that was coming from. I was thinking about making a commitment, but I decided to hold off. My dad is going to be back in October anyway, so I thought I should wait until then.

"I thought I was ready to commit, but I think now I should think things over a little more."

What about the Nebraska official visit he had set for the Virginia Tech game, is it still on?

"Oh yes sir, I'm still coming in for that game. I'm going to Tennessee this weekend, then I'm coming to Nebraska for the Virginia Tech game, and so is Daytawion Lowe. None of that has changed, we are both coming to see what Nebraska is all about."

He also has noticed the strong start by the '08 Huskers.

"I've kept up with what Nebraska has done this year, I see they have put in on some schools. They had 300 and something rushing yards last game and I liked that a lot."

As always, Big Red Report will stay on top of David's recruitment and continue to bring you the latest.
