Sydney Anderson picked up the rookie award for the third time in four weeks after tallying 12.39 assists per set while averaging 2.50 digs, 0.88 kills and 0.38 service aces in wins over No. 18 Kansas State and No. 3 Texas. She guided four different players to career bests in kills during the course of the week. At KSU, she contributed 46 assists, 10 digs and three aces to the Husker effort. Against Texas, Anderson dished out a season-best 53 assists and added 10 digs. She helped NU hit .319 as a team against a defense that was holding opponents to a .143 hitting percentage.
The second-ranked Huskers return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 24, as they take on the Kansas Jayhawks. First serve from the NU Coliseum is set for 7 p.m. The match will be carried on the Husker Sports Network, including B107.3 FM in Lincoln and Twister 93.3 FM in Omaha and on Huskers.com.
