The newest Husker

Nebraska may have finished the offensive line portion of their class this morning by picking up their latest commitment of the 2009 class. The latest commit might be their largest, physically, as well. At 6-foot-8 and 300-pounds, this offensive tackle has the size and the athleticism that college coaches dream about in their players.

Although Jeremiah Sirles has a day off from school today he isn't just taking it easy. Instead, it's decision day for the 6-foot-8 and 300-pound Sirles from Lakewood (Colo.) Bear Creek and it was down to Nebraska and Oregon.

"It's true, my son is a Husker," Jeremiah Sirles' father said. "He is on the other line talking right now, but we are all very exited about it."

As too are the Husker fans who are welcoming the third commitment in just about a week's time since not receiving one since late August.

Sirles' father included that his son has known for the past 12-24 hours or so that he would commit to Nebraska.

"My son just spoke to Barney Cotton who was at the DMV. I guess that there were warning signs all over the place about bad cell coverage and he was worried he would miss my son's call."

Sirles is a three-star recruit according to Scout.com and is the #36 rated offensive tackle nationally.
