Only a matter of time

With positions filling up in the '09 class for Nebraska, one prospect says he doesn't want to lose his spot. Big Red Report just spoke to the talented defensive back, and it appears he could show up on the Husker commit list by the end of the week.

Joshua Brown out of Lancaster (Tex.) Lancaster high school didn't beat around the bush when reached for an interview tonight. Big Red Report broke the news first.

"The next time I talk to coach Beck I'm going to commit," said Brown. "Nebraska has really everything you could want in a school, and I like the coaches a lot too. I feel like I'm ready to commit."

When do you think you'll talk to coach Beck again?

"Usually coach calls me on Thursday's, that is when I think I'll talk to him again. When he calls me this week I'll probably tell him I'm a Husker. I'm just really feelng them right now, I like how they are playing ball too."

How solid will the commitment be, will he take other visits?

"Nah, I'll probably take just one more to Nebraska. I'm not too worried about any of the other stuff. I'll probably set up my visit to Nebraska in November, I don't know about anymore."

Josh also spoke a little about how his season was going to this point.

"I tweaked my ankle playing offense a few games back, so my coaches said no more of that. So I'll just be playing defense from here on out. Nobody really throws my way anyway, but I make them pay if they do.

"We are having a pretty good season so far. We had a tough three point loss last week to West Mesquite. We have two more games left, then the playoffs start soon. I think we will make it pretty far once they start."

So I guess there's just one more question to ask. Are you going to be a Husker?

"Yes Sir!"
