Husker visit gets high grade

Nebraska is losing some key players to graduation next year including their top two receivers in Nate Swift and Todd Peterson. That has to be one of their selling points to wide receiver recruits like Chris Omigie. Omigie had a great visit to Nebraska and came away surprised with what he saw while he was in Lincoln.

Nebraska is looking for some receiver recruits to step in next year and have an impact. Chris Omigie might be one of those kinds of players and he was in Lincoln this weekend.

"It a really exciting game," Omigie said. "I liked everything about the visit. There were great people there and the whole town and state is behind them."

Nebraska's offense seems to be very comparable to the type of offense that Omigie is accustomed to playing in high school.

"They run the same style of offense as we run at Arlington (Texas) Martin so I think that I would fit in just fine there at Nebraska."

The Huskers did not get a verbal from Omigie this weekend. He is set to take three more trips then make a decision.

"I didn't commit and I have three more visits set. On December 5 I go to Baylor, Purdue on December 12 and Kansas on December 19.

"I am probably going to take a couple of weeks to sort it out after my trips. After that I will commit to somewhere."

The visit couldn't have gone a lot better for Omigie. He came away a little surprised with what he did and didn't see while he was in Lincoln.

"I would say it was about a "9.5". It was a very, very good trip. It was surprising to me a little bit. I wasn't really expecting a lot because it's Nebraska.

"I thought there would be small towns because it's Nebraska and a lot more farms. It was different than what I thought."
