Davis makes his choice

With the end of the season comes the end of the process from this Omaha (Nebr.) North lineman. Davis was getting some solid recruiting attention, including interest from Nebraska, but has instead decided to say yes to an offer he was holding. Where is James Davis heading?

One of the best linemen in the state of Nebraska is headed to play ball with a familiar person in the MAC. James Davis of Omaha (Nebr.) North gave a verbal commitment today.

"You told me call if anything new popped up," Davis said. "Today I committed to play at the University of Ohio."

Davis took an official visit to Ohio and Ohio was the only offer that he was holding to at this time. Regardless, the situation for Davis was right at Ohio.

"It just felt like a good thing to do. I think that I fit in very well down there, it's a nice fit, and I have a great opportunity there."

North had an excellent season doing better than most had anticipated. Davis said that you always want to go further, but he was satisfied with the season.

"We went 10-2 and lost in the semi-finals. We got our honors, but I can't remember what I received right now."

Nebraska might have been a team, and still might be, to come after Davis later with an offer or a chance to walk on. Despite that, Davis says that he is going to Ohio. "As of right now I am done, I am done."
