Big Weekend in Lawrence

Kansas set to host their first recruiting weekend. Who will be on campus?

DT Randall Dent - Dent is playing both DE and DT in high school which shows his athleticism and knowledge of the game. He will bump down to full time DT in college. He is big and explosive, smart, and plays with excellent body position. He needs to be more consistent at doing the little things all of the time. When he is on his game, Dent can control the LOS, is a force in the backfield, and frees up LBs because he draws the double team.

Florida and Oregon are making a push.

DE DeQuin Evans - Evans is a "Wardaddy". He is extremely explosive off the edge, plays with great leverage, and has great lateral range and instincts. When bending, he does well working down the line and is almost never to high up field. He would be a solid JUCO pick up as he is battle tested.

Also in the hunt; Arizona State, LSU, and Oregon

K Nate Freese - Freese has a strong leg with adequate accuracy. He is best on kickoffs where over 80 percent of his kicks resulted in touchbacks. He has made field goals of 53, 42, 49.

Also has an Air Force Offer.

WR Cobi Hamilton - Hamilton is a big time playmaker. At 6-4 200 pounds, Hamilton ended his senior season with 64 receptions for 1,071 yards and 14 touchdowns giving him a two-year total of 93 catches, 1,797 yards and 21 touchdowns. He is fast enough to stretch the field however, he is big enough and runs good enough routes to be a great possession WR. He is also scary in the red zone because of his height and his athleticism to go up and bring down jump balls.

Arkansas has to be the leader at this point because it is close to home and his parents are alum. His mother played basketball for the Razorbacks. Also in the fold, Missouri and Oklahoma State.

WR Erick McGriff - McGriff is a sleeper WR with a great bloodline. The greatest attribute about McGriff is his knowledge of the game. He knows how to find openings in a defense and runs his routes accordingly. This year he caught 40 passes for 654 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Boston College and Florida State are showing interest but have yet to offer

S Calvin Rubles - On the season, Rubles recorded 45 tackles, 3 ints, and 10 PBus. He plays at the same Juco as Kansas DB Aquib Talib.

OLB Huldon Tharp - Tharp is an athletic OLB that plays sideline to sideline. He missed his entire senior season due to a torn ACL but he is doing well in recovery and should be back by December 18th.

Already committed to KU

DE Jacoby Thomas - An athletic DE that has the build that you look for in a high school DE (long arms, legs and torso) but he is very raw in his skill sets.

Teammate of Cobi Hamilton. Holds SMU offer.

DE Kevin Young - Kevin Young is a defensive end that is just starting to come in to his potential. He has a great frame and does a tremendous job of rushing the passer. He pursues well down the line against the run and does not give up on plays.

De-committed from Kansas and committed to Nebraska. The question is, will he show up for the visit?
