"Latu has taken his last official visit," Head Coach Benson said. "He went to Florida this past weekend and that will be the last trip. He has his last day of school on Friday and then home for a break."
While it will be a Holiday break for Latu, there will still be some work that needs to be done. It sounds like the time with friends and family will be spent going over his options for schools and probably narrowing things down.
"I asked him and he told me that he doesn't have any favorites. He is totally wide open and I believe him. He just wants to take the time over the break to talk to his family, to his uncle and other family members to narrow it down to two or three schools."
For Husker fans, Nebraska is still pushing hard for the defensive tackle who happens to hail from the same high school as the one time Husker, and now Philadelphia Eagle, Stewart Bradley. Space in the Nebraska class seems to be at a premium.
"Actually the Nebraska coach, Coach Mike Ekeler, just left here and a couple of other coaches have been here today. Nebraska said that they will be shutting down their class soon and they are looking at just having a spot or two left right now in the class."
Landing Heimuli would be a huge cherry on the sundae for this recruiting class. Recently, the Huskers have gone on a bit of a tear lately landing five commitments this month, two this week, and seven total since Thanksgiving. Heimuli is rated four-stars and is ranked the #10 defensive tackle this year according to Scout.com.
