For Jesse Coffey, there wasn't a whole lot of new things for him to do in Lincoln this weekend for his official visit. Coffey committed to Nebraska in the summer and had since been up to Nebraska on numerous occasions for unofficial visits that allowed him to see about all that you could see. Still, Coffey had some next experiences and spoke about that to Big Red Report.
expected that it would be cold up in Lincoln this weekend, but what he found wasn't too different than what he had at home. The 6-foot-7 and 260-pound offensive lineman said there wasn't much of a difference.
"Not as much as you would expect," Coffey said. "It was around 40 in Lincoln and probably like 60 or so here in Dallas. And it was cold here earlier in the week. It's not too far off."
Coffey has been up to Nebraska a number of times for unofficial visits. On his official visit weekend he wanted a chance to hang out with more of the players and got that. He also met a lot of the recruits in Lincoln this weekend.
"I got to hang out with the players and meet some more of the recruits this weekend. Kody Spano was my host and I met Damon Bechtold and some other players.
"I hung out with C.J. Zimmerer and Cole Pensick and their host Mike Caputo and another guy. I also hung out with their friends and a lot of other people.
"I got a chance to talk with Taylor Martinez too, but not a lot. I sat next to Cody Green one time at the table and chatted with him, but that's about it."
Coffey said that there wasn't anything in particular that he wanted to get another look at in Lincoln. He said that Nebraska is coming down for an in-home to start talking about his letter of intent.
"No, not really. I got a more in-depth tour, but that was about it. We didn't cover LOI day either. Coach Tim Beck is coming down next week with a sample letter and stuff."
