Green meets with Stoops

Two years ago, Nebraska lost a commitment from San Antonio to Oklahoma in the eleventh hour of the recruiting year. The Sooners had hosted Travis Lewis before and never stopped recruiting him, but he was a Husker commit. Now, Oklahoma told Andrew Green that they would come and see him if they lost someone and today Oklahoma was at Green's school.

It was déjà vu for Husker fans with Oklahoma going to talk to Andrew Green, a Nebraska commitment from San Antonio (Texas) Madison. OU stole away a Nebraska commitment two year ago in Travis Lewis who was also from San Antonio.

"Oklahoma came by my school today," Green said. "It was Coach Bob Stoops, the DB coach and the running backs coach. They just wanted to see if I had any interest in Oklahoma.

"OU let me know way before today that if someone changed their mind about going to OU that they were going to recruit me. Someone apparently dropped out and so they started contacting me."

Green was very diligent and private about his process. He wanted to take the trips that he wanted to before he talked a lot about it and go through the process before making a decision. The OU interest just seemed to be a little late for him.

"I am firm to Nebraska with my commitment. If they (Oklahoma) had come in earlier then it might have been a different story with me. It's late in the process."

Green committed to Nebraska just back in December following an official visit to Missouri. Green took his official visit to Nebraska in September. Green will host Coach Mike Ekeler in house tomorrow night and plans to cover signing his letter of intent with Nebraska.
