Favors wants to see Nebraska

The Huskers might only have room for just one linebacker in the 2010 class and so you know that Nebraska wants it to be a special one. Rashod Favors is that type of player. A converted safety, Favors will be moving down to linebacker this year for Fort Worth (Texas) Dunbar and with his size and his speed he could be lethal from the linebacker spot.

At 6-foot-1 and 225-pounds, Rashod Favors from Fort Worth (Texas) Dunbar, was a load at safety. He and his team have been working this spring, but the Ft. Worth ISD has been shut down.

"It's going good," Favors said. "The swine flu has had our school shut down for about a week. I don't think that we are going to have spring practice now.

"We have been practicing in the mornings and I think that we are going to continue to do that for now until this summer. We have 7-on-7 in the summer."

At safety, Favors was a force. He was also big; big enough to move down to play linebacker this season. Now, Favors, will bring 4.5 speed to the linebacker spot.

"I really just wanted to work on my flexibility and to learn the defense. I know the defense, but I am talking about getting adjusted to playing linebacker.

"I played free and strong safety before. Picking up the reads from linebacker is what I need to work on. I am so close to the line of scrimmage now."

Favors has the physical side of the game. That is why he is moving down to linebacker. He also had the speed at safety to take on any opposing receiver on the field.

"I am more of a physical guy. Our coach feels that I am a playmaker and wanted me closer to the line of scrimmage. I am going to make plays whenever I can.

"I can make plays all over the field. Also, as a safety, I was able to play with any of the opposing receivers, outside or inside. As a linebacker, I will have great speed."

Favors is the complete package and it's no wonder that he has 20 offers already. He literally holds an offer from everyone in the Big 12, except for one, but that might be coming soon.

"I have 20 offers right now. I haven't really narrowed anything down. I like Oklahoma a lot right now. I have all of the Big 12 offers except for Texas.

"I heard a rumor though the other day that supposedly that Texas is getting close to offering me. I thought about calling down there to talk to them."

While Favors has that large number of offers he is looking at three schools right now that could get a visit this summer. It would be after the school year is over before he could visit.

"I am going to take a few trips this summer. I am going to go and see Baylor, Oklahoma State and Nebraska more than likely. It will be sometime in June for all of them."

The Huskers are a school that is standing out to Favors right now. He likes their defense and the fact that it's a big-time football school. Nebraska is talking about playing Favors at all of the linebacker positions.

"I like Nebraska because it's a big name school and I like their defense. I want to go up there and look at everything. Coach Tim Beck is the coach that's recruiting me.

"Nebraska is talking to me about playing inside and outside for them. I like that a lot. As long as they are talking about playing defense so I can make tackles then it's all good to me."
