"I am really tired," Jackson said. "I have been working really hard. I am trying to work on my speed and my footwork."
The Missouri City (Texas) Hightower team came up just a hair short from winning a state title last year. Getting that close has left a taste in their mouths to get back and win it this year.
"We came close last year to getting that title. We stayed in the game real late last year and we should have won it.
"All of us got a little taste of winning that last game and that really has us driven to go all the way this year."
Jackson just got back from taking a couple of visits for camps. He has another visit coming up in the coming weeks, but isn't sure if there will be anymore this summer.
"I am going to take some more trips this summer. It will be later in July and I think that I am heading over to LSU. I don't know about any other trips right now."
Jackson is holding onto a double-digit offer total, but isn't close to trimming his list. He knows what he is looking for though when it comes to trimming his list and ultimately to making his decision.
"I have 11 or 12 offers, but I don't have a top list. I don't have a top five or top seven right now. I am looking for a good environment, the coaches, the facilities and my major."
The Huskers hold a special place with Jackson. The fact that they were first to offer remains something that he continues to think about as other offers continue to come in.
"Nebraska was the first team to offer me and I really like Nebraska. It means a lot to me for them to be my first offer.
"I will keep them in consideration for being the first team to offer me and really seeing something in me before others to offer."
The Huskers are a team that is going to get a visit from Jackson. He just isn't sure if it will be on his dime this summer or on an official visit this fall.
"I am going to visit Nebraska. I don't know if it will be an unofficial this July or an official visit this fall. I just know that I want to visit there."
