"We work out in the mornings," Washington said. "I am improving my strength and my flexibility. I am improving myself all around to become a better knee bender."
Being called a knee bender as an offensive lineman is a compliment. Washington is working to get strong enough as well as on his technique to really help him out in this area.
"It's important to become a knee bender especially if you are tall. It helps you get low. Also, to really play tackle effectively, you need to be able to stay low and be a knee bender."
DeSoto has really become one of the powerhouse teams in the Dallas area. This year, they are loaded and Washington said the team's goals are high. "It's state. That is where we are going, flat out."
Washington is up to over 20 offers, but has it narrowed down to seven schools plus maybe one more. The top seven as of now is solid, but one could either expand the seven to eight or slide into that top seven.
"I have 23 offers. I have narrowed it down to seven schools. It's Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, LSU, Miami and Baylor. The only school on the outside that I would be thinking about is Nebraska."
What Nebraska has to do to get into Washington's top seven isn't going to be easy. The Huskers need to try and get Washington on campus this summer and really in the month of July, to try and impress him enough.
"For Nebraska to get back into my top seven, I really just have to get up there and see the place and see if I like it. I plan on going up there to see Nebraska. If I go, it will be some time this month."
Washington is looking at a lot of things when it comes to his decision. The first thing that he talks about though is playing early. After that he is looking at the program, coaches and the location of the school.
"I am looking at the possibility of playing early wherever I go. I am also looking at the program, the location, the coaching staff and their development of me to make me the best player I can possibly be."
