Single-Match Volleyball tickets to go on sale

Single-Match Volleyball Tickets on Sale Next Wednesday Lincoln - The Nebraska Ticket Office announced that single-match tickets for the 2009 volleyball season will go on sale to the public next Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 8 a.m.

Single-match ticket prices are set at $16 (reserved), $14 (reserved), $10 (general admission) and $8 (youth and seniors GA), while UNL students can purchase tickets in The Block, the student courtside section for $5 per match. There are only a limited number of reserved seats for each home Coliseum home match.

Tickets can be purchased online at Huskers.com, by calling the NU Ticket Office at 800-8-BIGRED from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or by visiting the NU Ticket Office (located across from Memorial Stadium) during business hours.  Tickets for the Coliseum matches are expected to go quickly, as Nebraska sold out the 2008 allotment in 10 minutes to help extend its home sellout streak to 120 matches.

Beginning Wednesday, fans can also start purchasing tickets to the Huskers' match against UCLA at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on Sunday, Sept. 13. Tickets for that match range from $8 to $14 and can be purchased online at Huskers.com, by calling the NU Ticket Office at 800-8-BIGRED or by visiting the NU Ticket Office (located across from Memorial Stadium) between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday. UNL students can buy tickets for just $5 and have the option of sitting in special student seating in the end courts on the floor or in reserved seating in the upper C Level.

The match, which is the final day of the 2009 Ameritas Players Challenge, will feature a pair of teams that will likely begin the season in the top 10 in the AVCA preseason poll.  UCLA finished with a
22-11 record, reached the NCAA Regional semifinals and finished the year ranked eighth in the final AVCA/Bison poll.  The Huskers return five starters, including All-Americans Sydney Anderson and Tara Mueller, from a team that went 31-3 and lost to Penn State in the national semifinals in Omaha.

The Huskers have sold out the Devaney Center in each of the past two years, breaking the NCAA regular-season single-match record with a crowd of 13,412 against LSU last September.

Fans who want to get a sneak peek at the 2009 Huskers can now also purchase tickets to the annual Red/White Scrimmage at the Nebraska Coliseum on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 7 p.m.  Tickets are $10 (adults) and $8 (youth and seniors), while all UNL Students will be admitted free with their valid N-Card. All tickets for the Red/White Scrimmage are general admission.
