Commit coming?

What Donovan Vestal would like to do as opposed to what he is probably going to have to do are two completely different things. This Saturday is Vestal's birthday and he would like to commit to a school to celebrate with his family. Vestal might also want to take an official or two to make sure that he made the right decision. Good news for Husker fans is that he will be in Lincoln on 9/5…

At 6-foot-5 and 215-pounds, Donovan Vestal looks like the type of defensive end that Nebraska has been looking for under Bo Pelini. The standout from Arlington (Texas) Bowie says that there is big news on the horizon for him.

"I have a date picked out to commit," Vestal said. "I just don't know if I will. My birthday is this Saturday and I would like to do it then because practice starts on that Monday. I'd like to commit and get it out of the way."

The problem with this might be that Vestal would like to commit and possibly take an official visit or two. The good news for Nebraska fans is that the only official visit that Vestal has set up is for Nebraska on 9/5 for the Florida Atlantic game.

"I really want to see the game atmosphere in Lincoln. I have heard so much about it. I really want to walk out of that locker room and walk down that red turf out into the stadium. I also didn't get to see a lot of the campus on junior day."

One person that won't be attending that game with Vestal is Diamonte Wheeler. Wheeler, recently, committed to Oklahoma State. Wheeler really always favored OSU, but that isn't going to phase Vestal who always said that he was interested in teams that really wanted him and not the Wheeler/Vestal package.

"Diamonte is going to Oklahoma State and I am not going to let that phase me and my decision. I have always said that I am going where I feel wanted for me."
