"We have this little dinner and scrimmage thing we are about to do in about an hour or so. It's just this thing we like to do on Saturdays with the families. Everybody comes out and watches us practice then we have this big dinner together. It helps build team unity."
With two of his teammates already set to see Lincoln on November 7th when the Huskers battle the Sooners, Austin Hill says he has his official visit set up to Nebraska for the big game against Oklahoma as well.
"Yeah I'll be there with my boys Harold Mobley and Joshua Mitchell. Matter of fact I think another teammate of mine will be there too, Tyler Slavin. I don't know if he has set it up or not, but he said the other day he wants to be there. I'm pretty sure all four of us will be there."
Are you excited about seeing that big game in person?
"Oh man, that place is going to be pumping and I bet that atmosphere is going to be something else, it's going to be crazy. That is one of the biggest games of the year. I can't wait for that thing, I hope it is a night game too. We have a game that Friday, and then Josh, Harold and the rest of us will fly out there that night."
Who did you set up the official with?
"Coach Carl Pelini and I set it up the other day. They had the wrong email for me, so once we got that straightened out we set up the visit. I talked to him the other day and he said he can't wait to get me out there on campus."
Do you have any other officials set up, any new schools in the picture?
"No, that is the only one I have set up right now. I'll probably set up some others later in the year, just don't know when yet. I've just been in contact with mostly the same schools. Arizona, Arizona, Nebraska, Colorado and a few others. Some other schools have said they plan to offer during my senior year, but we'll see. I'm just focusing on the schools that have offered right now."
And that focus isn't just on his recruitment, as his senior season is about to commence.
"We have been going through some tough two-a-days here lately. We look like we are going to have a real strong team, but you never really know until you play the games. Some of the young guys showed a little panic when we first started going in full pads, but they are getting used to it and look ready to go.
"We have a scrimmage against Eldorado, I think it is on September 3rd. Our first game is September 11th against West Torrance, they are supposed to be good."
The 6-foot-3, and 195 pound receiver said he has no real timeframe for a commitment, other than "when it feels right". With offers from the Big 12, Pac 10, Big 10 and others, Hill is one of the more sought after uncommitted players on the west coast. And Nebraska locking him in for an official visit bodes well for the Huskers, as he and his three teammates all have strong interest in the Nebraska program.
