Picks up Nebraska offer

If there is one thing to say about the Nebraska staff it's that they are not afraid of a challenge. Nebraska has had success getting players out of Texas and California recently. But one school that has sort of shut its doors to Nebraska is Florida. The Nebraska staff is trying to change that and have offered this big time receiver from Miami recently.

Willis Wright and his team from Miami Springs (Flor.) are off to a good start. Wright knows that he is having a good year, but didn't know his stats through two games.

"It's going good," Wright said. "We are 2-0 and I am enjoying it. I don't know what my stats are. I really don't pay attention to that. I just go out and play."

One thing that Wright did know was that the off-season work that he put in has paid off already this summer. Wright knows that his route running has become better.

"It's been good. In the off season I really worked on my route running. In the game I can tell that it's gotten better. I am still working on getting faster."

Recruiting has become more of a constant for Wright since the coaches could start calling. He is sitting on nine offers and they range from the ACC to the SEC to the Big 10 to the Big 12.

"Recruiting is going good too. I have eight or nine offers. I have offers from Miami, Florida International, Auburn, Mississippi, Rutgers, South Florida, Central Florida, Purdue and Nebraska has all offered."

While Wright is still thinking about recruiting he hasn't taken any trips yet, but promises that will happen soon. He knows of some schools he would potentially like to visit.

"I haven't taken any official visits yet, but I will be setting some up soon. I would like to take a visit to Miami, Rutgers, Ole Miss and Purdue or Auburn maybe."

When Wright takes his visit he is looking mainly at the people involved and that surround the football program. Playing time is something that he will be interested in hearing about too.

"I am looking for a school that has good people to be around. I am also looking at the coaches. Playing time is something that I am looking at and staying close to home isn't a big deal. I work hard, so I want to play."

There was a surprise for Wright who recently picked up his eighth offer. The offer came out of left field and Wright didn't even know that this team was looking at him.

"Nebraska just offered me. I didn't know that they were looking at me really. I just got it last week or two weeks ago. It really surprised me. I have been talking to them though."

Wright didn't mention Nebraska as a school that he would like to take a visit to, but he hasn't ruled it out. He is going to start taking visits next month or the month after.

"I am not against taking a visit to Nebraska. I would like to take a visit there to see if I like it or not. I am going to start taking visits in either October or November. It will be during the season for sure."

While Wright didn't know what his stats were for this season so far, as a junior Wright had 22 receptions for 529 yards and 10 touchdowns. "I can run routes and get open. I have good speed and hands and I also play defense. But I'd like to get more yards after the catch. I'm working on my stamina and being able to breakaway."
