Guy talks favorites

Jay Guy was the first commitment for Cal and their 2010 class. Guy committed just weeks after signing day to Cal and literally just a few months later was going to give schools like Nebraska a look. Cal was the first school to get an official visit from Guy and then came UCLA. Nebraska is on tap next for Guy, but has he narrowed it to three schools?

Houston (Texas) Aldine Eisenhower is getting on the right track going into district play. Jay Guy, a 6-foot-0 and 307-pound defensive tackle, says the defense is playing well right now, but they still lost their first district game.

"It's going pretty good," Guy said. "We are 4-3 right now. The defense is playing well. We have only lost one district game and that was this past week. We lost to Humble."

Guy is doing very well this season. Over the past three games he is averaging around 10 tackles and one sack per game. At the nose of a 3-4, it's on Guy to stir things up.

"In the past three games I have had around 30 tackles. I have had either two or three sacks. We run a 3-4 defense so it's more read and react on the defense.

"I play the nose so it's still on me to create pressure. I get pressure of the guards and the center. It's kind of hard, but I still find a way to make a play."

While Guy does say that he is trimming his list he will also follow that up with he is looking around still. What it comes down to is Guy finding the best place for him.

"Yeah, I am trying to trim things down a bit. I am down to a top three kind of, but I am still looking around. I just want to find the best place for me.

"I really want my family to agree with my choice. I am still looking at Cal, Nebraska and UCLA. I have been looking at those schools."

Guy has two official visits down and one to go. He knows that the weekend up in Lincoln is going to be a big one when he is set to visit Nebraska officially.

"I took an official visit to Cal and to UCLA. I have a visit set up for Nebraska on November 7 for the Oklahoma weekend. That is still set up."
