Carter weighing the options

With the addition of Rock Bridge High defensive end, Chase Rome, to the 2010 recruiting class, the question is, who's next? 6-foo-4 250 lb Chance Carter, from Loyola Academy, Wilmette, Ill. says it's not him. Not yet any way.

"I am just focusing on my team, and our season right now," Carter said. " I don't have a visit set up to Nebraska yet, but I would like to get one set up as soon as the playoffs start for us."

When asked when he would like to take a visit, he said he would like to make it to Lincoln for a game, not after the Husker's season ends.

"Once the play offs start I will start looking into it." Carter said "I would like to go to the Oklahoma game if I could chose."

The talented defensive end said he had no idea that Nebraska added two new recruits this weekend. He admits he hasn't even started paying attention to recruiting yet.

"To be honest I didn't know they got any one," Carter said. "The last time I talked to a coach from Nebraska was before they played Missouri. So I talked to the coaches Wednesday night."

Carter said that he got the opportunity to catch the whole game against the Tigers Thursday night, and was impressed with NU's dominating defensive performance.

"I watched the whole game." Carter said. "Their defensive line played really well. They were active the whole game. They were strong against their (Missouri's) offensive line. They really got after them. I was impressed."

Chance's recruiting coach is Marvin Sanders, but he said he talks to defensive end coach John Papuchis more often.

Carter has not added any new offers since the last time he talked to Scout.com, but says his senior season is going well.

"We are 6-1, and the season is going very well." Carter said. "We are top 5 in the state. We are making some noise, and hoping to make a run."
