Baylor-week going well for defense

Even though the defense has been on a roll of sorts, each team presents its share of issues. Baylor is no different, according to defensive line coach Carl Pelini. Between their style, Robert Griffin or no, he said the Bears present their share issues, which Nebraska has to prepare for once again.

Practice Notes:

·         Senior wide receiver Chris Brooks was out of the green jersey for today's half-padded practice. It isn't clear whether he will play this weekend or not.

·         Sophomore cornerback Alfonzo Dennard continues to sport the green jersey, but he is expected to play and start.

·         Junior running back Roy Helu Jr. also continues to sport the green jersey this week, but there has been no indication that he won't start on the road-trip down to Baylor.

Expected to start at wide receiver this weekend is redshirt freshman Khiry Cooper at the "X". Junior Niles Paul started last week against Iowa State, and at this point It's not certain whether he'll start this game or not. Paul had a couple of good catches against the Cyclones in the somewhat historical loss, but his biggest play was an unforced fumble, a ball which he let slip from his grasp as he was trying to stay inbounds on what appeared to be an inevitable scoring play.
