Wants NU offer

Nebraska definitely left an impression on Kenny Bell. Bell, a standout player from Boulder (Colo.) Fairview, wasn't on campus very long in Lincoln, but he saw enough. What he came away with from the weekend was the sense of Nebraska's school pride mostly from their fans at the game. Where does Nebraska envision him playing in college?

The 6-foot-2 and 175-pound Kenny Bell from Boulder (Colo.) Fairview won't have a lot of time off over the holiday and that's fine with him. His team has their semi-final playoff game this Saturday.

"I don't have any time off this week," Bell said. "I have football every day this week. We have our semi-final game on Saturday. We have practice Thanksgiving morning."

Fairview is undefeated up to this point and had to deal with the loss of Bell due to injury very early in the season. Bell broke his collar bone, but has since come back and has an impact all over the field.

"We are 12-0 right now. I shattered my collar bone the first week of the season and had surgery right after that. I was out for seven weeks. I came back though.

"I start on both sides of the ball. I also return our punts and kicks and I also handle our punting duties. I play a little receiver, running back or quarterback on offense and rotate at corner and safety on defense."

Bell was in Lincoln this past weekend and saw the win over Kansas State. While Bell wasn't able to see a lot, what he did see he really liked.

"The trip went well. I wasn't on campus very long, but the thing that stood out me the most was school spirit and those fans. The fans are unbelievable.

"A lot of people knew who I was when I was up there. It was pretty crazy. I didn't sign any autographs, but I slapped a lot of hands with fans."

The Huskers see Bell on offense, defense and on special teams. He hopes that their interest in him leads to him getting an offer from the Huskers.

"Nebraska likes me more as a wide out, then as a corner and then as a return specialist. I don't have an offer from them, but I am hoping to get one from Nebraska."

The fit for Bell at Nebraska is a good one according to him. He likes that it's not too far from home and the coaching staff at Nebraska has really done a great job recruiting him.

"I think that Nebraska is a great fit for me. It's close enough to home. I actually know a lot of people originally from Nebraska. I love the coaching staff. I think that it's an awesome fit."

Bell still has a half-dozen other offers that he is considering. He has also taken two official visits so far. Bell is planning on some more trips, but doesn't know when or where he will visit because of the season.

"I have six offers right now. They are from Arizona State, Minnesota, Texas Tech, Colorado, Colorado State and Idaho. I have taken official visits to Minnesota and Texas Tech.

"I am really focused on the season right now and winning the state championship. When my season is over and done with I will start making some more trips."

Bell was able to get in the Nebraska trip this past weekend, but he is set on winning a state title now. He doesn't have a timeline for his decision.

"I am going to take my time. I want to see the schools I really like. I could commit immediately following the season or wait until February. I just don't know."
