Russell enjoys trip to Lincoln

There were plenty of highly touted players in Lincoln this weekend, but Quincy Russell might have been the most heralded. A one-time commitment to Texas the 6-foot-3 and 284-pound Russell was up in Lincoln checking out what Nebraska had to offer. Russell had a good visit overall.

Four-star defensive tackle, Quincy Russell, from San Antonio (Texas) Sam Houston, is still up in Lincoln after watching the spring game at Nebraska today.

"I am doing good," Russell said. "It was good. I had never seen so many people show up for a spring game before.

"I really liked how the fans came out and support the team and the coaching staffs for just a spring game."

One of the things that Russell really liked about the weekend was getting a chance to meet a future first round draft pick.

"I had a chance to talk to Ndamukong Suh and that was awesome. We talked a little bit and he just told me to take my time."

The visit went well, but like so many others that aren't used to the weather in Nebraska, the Huskers got a little bump in the visit score because part of the time it was cool in Lincoln.

"I would have to give the visit about an "8.5". It was kind of chilly at first while we were up here. It was a little cold. Everything else was top-notch; the game, the fans and the coaches.

"The weekend really went well with a guy like Aaron (Green) up here who I could talk to about things all weekend and stuff."
