Recruiting Tidbits: WR, Marquis Jackson

Check out the latest skinny on another standout prospect, this one from Texas. Wide Receiver Marquis Jackson has five offers and looks to have more soon. A burner at the wideout position, Wright is one of those all-purpose receivers who can give you finesse in catching it or physicality when blocking the run or with the ball after the catch. Here's the latest on Wright who has been offered by NU.

Marquis Jackson is a 6-0, 190 lbs. receiver out of Fort Worth, TX (Arlington Heights HS), and is currently holding five offers right now, from Nebraska, Arkansas, Kansas State, Baylor and Minnesota.

Jackson said that the University of Kansas was by to talk to his coach in the last couple of weeks.

As a junior Jackson averaged almost 20 yards per catch, bringing down 48 balls for 949 yards, scoring 11 times. He also added 454 yards rushing, much of that coming out of the "Wildcat" formation.

The only campus that Jackson has seen of those schools that have offered him is Baylor, which he visited for a Junior Day this year.

Jackson said that he benches around 300 lbs., squats close to 500 and he's ran a 40 which was laser timed, at a reported low 4.5 clip.

When it comes to Nebraska? "I don't know too much about them other than people telling me it gets cold up there. But I really don't care about the weather," Jackson said. "I'll play wherever. It doesn't matter to me. I just want to find a place that fits me."

Jackson obviously considers himself a big-play guy, who doesn't just have speed. "My speed is good, but the ability to make guys miss after the catch, going up and making the catch – I think I am a good all around receiver," he said.

There will more than likely be no camps or unofficial visits, at least any great distance from where he's at right now. He plans to wait until the season to take his official visits, but hasn't set in stone just where those will go.

Jackson said there are no leaders, though. He looks at everyone equally, and his decision could be waiting until the time Signing Day arrives.
