Starling set to see NU

One of the top signal callers in the nation will be in Lincoln this coming week for a baseball tournament. That provides the Nebraska coaching staff enough of an opportunity to get Bubba Starling from Gardner (Kans.) Edgerton to swing over for what will likely be the last visit before he commits. Starling is down to Nebraska and Notre Dame with the Huskers coming up in the bottom of the ninth.

Bubba Starling is down to a top two. The gunslinger from Gardner (Kans.) Edgerton was on his third visit to Notre Dame early this month, but the Huskers have that all important last visit before Starling might be making a decision.

"He will be up there," Coach Marvin Diener said. "He actually has a baseball tournament at Nebraska this coming weekend.

"He is going to be on campus with the Nebraska coaches on Friday for a while and again on Saturday for a while between games."

This has been a comprehensive recruiting effort according to Coach Diener. The Nebraska staff has been contacting Starling's football and baseball coaches at Edgerton.

"I know that the Nebraska staff has been in much contact with Bubba's baseball coaches as they have me. They have been working it from all sides."

This is likely the last visit that Starling takes before he makes his choice. Coach Diener couldn't confirm that for sure, but he says that a lot should be known on Sunday about where Starling is at with the process.

"I know that things are wrapping up, but I am not sure when he plans on making a decision. That is something that I should know after Sunday."
