Will Visit NU

While the summer goes on things will quiet down around Nebraska for the next couple of weeks. But one recruit who will be heading up to Lincoln later this summer is David Santos a linebacker from Klein (Texas) Collins. Coach Drew Svoboda from Collins High School said that Santos' time is mostly spent in the classroom these days, but he knows about an upcoming visit to Nebraska.

It's not much of a summer right now for David Santos. The 6-foot-1 and 210-pound linebacker from Klein (Texas) Collins is taking care of what needs to be done these days and unfortunately it's away from the football field right now.

"He's real busy right now," Coach Drew Svoboda said. "He's in summer schools and heck, I only see him one time a week and that's on Thursdays. It's an all day thing. His summer school is all the way on the other side of town too."

While summer school is in session there are still plans being made for the summer by Santos. Coach Drew Svoboda confirmed that Santos has a trip coming up in July to see Nebraska.

"They have a planned visit set to Nebraska. I know that it's in July because I spoke to David's father a little earlier today and he was talking about it. They are all very excited about the trip."

If there was one thing that gave David and Coach Svoboda some reassurance about Nebraska and their interest in Santos then it came in the mail earlier this week. Things are really looking up for the situation between Stantos and Nebraska.

"It's an official offer from Nebraska. We got the official offer letter in the mail just the other day. I know that David is real excited about the offer and about Nebraska and I feel good about the fit between the school and him."

Santos is a player that is a little bit on the up-tick. Maybe not the ideal height for a linebacker, but is a real physical and athletic presence in the box. Santos is also holding offers from Utah, Tulane and Wyoming at this point.

"Then, we'll see."
