Another emerging from Crete

If there is one way to "get the word out" it's to hit the camps. First, a school knows how serious you are potentially of them. Second, if you perform well it might lead to an offer from that school. And third, it could also just be a way for people to find out that you are out there so they can become interested in you. Ben Muff performed well in Lincoln this summer.

Ryne Reeves has been a name that the Husker faithful have known since last summer. You can add another name to the Crete (Nebr.) roster that you should know because Ben Muff is getting out and showing what he can do.

"I have done camps at Nebraska and North Dakota State," Muff said. "I also went to Kansas State and Kansas. I will be going to South Dakota State too. Pretty busy."

Muff is definitely a player that schools are looking at to play on the defensive side of the football, but where is another question. Some like him in the secondary and some like him a little closer to the line of scrimmage.

"I am working out at both safety and linebacker at these camps. I play safety in high school, but some people want me to play linebacker and some want me as a safety. I don't have a preference."

Muff sounded pretty positive when it came to judging how he did at the Nebraska camp. Overall he thinks that he worked out well and that his measurements were solid for a player at his position.

"I thought that I did pretty good at their camp. I did pretty good in one on ones and I also did good on the drills. I tested out alright. I ran a 4.6 in the 40. I measured in at 6-foot-1 and 197-pounds."

Muff does have an offer already and a couple of other schools are showing pretty serious interest. The Huskers are interested too and have asked for some more time to evaluate him this fall.

"I have an offer from North Dakota State. South Dakota State and North Dakota both seem like they are pretty interested, but I don't have an offer from them yet.

"I am getting interest from Nebraska. They seem pretty interested. They want to see me play a couple of games in my senior season before they do anything."
