Huskers back on the islands

You knew that it was going to be a matter of time before Nebraska started to line up for defensive end and defensive tackle recruits. The Nebraska class currently just has Kevin Williams committed as a defensive tackle and the Huskers are looking to build depth at each position. What's significant about the newest offer is where this player is from.

It will excite Husker fans to know that it seems an effort is being made to recruit the state of Hawaii again. Koa Ka'ai from Honolulu (Hi.) Kamehameha is now holding a Nebraska offer according to his father.

"He's a Nebraska fan," Bill Ka'ai said. "He picked up a Nebraska offer just recently. He's a defensive end and he's at about 250 or 255 pounds. He still looks lean. It's good to be young!"

Ka'ai is already holding offers from schools such as Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Washington, Washington State, Texas Tech, Arizona, California and Colorado among others. Now the Huskers have thrown their hat into the ring.

"It's great that he picked up the offer from Nebraska. I know that he's really excited about it. He has practice in the afternoon, but he will call you after practice."
