"I know that he has set up visits," Coach Rodenberg said. "I know that he has visits set up to Wisconsin, Oregon and Nebraska. These will be during the season because I don't mind him taking visits during the season.
"I know that he plans on taking all five of his visits before making a decision. This is a tight family and they are going to do things the right way."
There is great tradition at Moeller and if you are a D1 coach recruiting Ohio then Moeller is a must-stop. Hayes is one of a few this year, but he definitely stands out as a leader.
"We have a couple of division one players this year, last year we actually had six of them, so at Moeller High School we are used to having big players, but he's certainly a leader.
"He has a great attitude. He's real fun to work with. He'll do what he's told. He's the weak side defensive end and that is really what he will probably play in college."
Hayes is a bigger body, 6-foot-4 and 230-pounds, but still very athletic and quick off of the edge. Coach Rodenberg pins the ears back on Hayes and just lets him go.
"He has a chance to really be a pass rusher in our defense and plays more of a soft five technique over the tackle. We are turning him loose. He can come close to running a 4.6/40 so he's tough to block."
