Catching Up with the Future Pack - Week Three

Week three of the high school football season and it's time to get an update on how each Nevada verbal did in their games this past weekend. Several Pack recruits shined this past weekend. Stat keeping for high school is inconsistent, especially on the defensive side of the ball, but we will do our best to give Wolf Pack fans a decent update of how each player performed.

Drew Celis - WR - Marin Catholic HS - Kentfield, CA
The Marin Catholic Wildcats routed the visiting Heritage Patriots, 42-6 in Saturday's non-league bout. Celis amassed 171 all-purpose yards including taking the opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown as well as a 9 yard touchdown reception.

Wyatt Demps - WR, S - Pleasant Grove HS - Elk Grove, CA
Pleasant Grove crushed Nevada Union 62-7 to move to 3-0 on the year. Wyatt Demps was dominant, catching 8 passes for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Hunter Fralick - QB - Spanish Springs HS - Reno, NV
Spanish Springs moved to 1-1 on the year with a 49-35 win over the host Scotts Valley Falcons. Fralick put on a clinic, completing 20 of his 23 pass attempts for 303 yards and three touchdowns as the visiting Cougars held off feisty Scotts Valley, 49-35, in a nonleague matchup.

"He's an all-state quarterback and he's going to Nevada and they produce some good ones," Scotts Valley coach Louie Walters said of Fralick. "He's reminiscent of Colin Kaepernick."

Fralick, a 6-foot-3 senior, also compiled 47 yards on seven carries on the ground.

Victor Gonzalez - WR - Norte Vista HS - Riverside, CA
In Thursday's non-league match, host Norte Vista got it's first win of the year over 0-2 Temescal Canyon 27-7. Next up for Norte Vista is 3-0 and next takes on 0-3 Garey High School of Pomona, CA. Norte Vista ground out the win, rushing for 236 yards. Gonzalez helped keep a drive alive with a 35 yard reception on 3rd and 19.
Jacob Lacaden - OLB - St. Louis School - Honolulu, HI
St. Louis moved to 4-1 on the year with a 49-13 win over 3-3 Iolani. Lacaden had a pick 6 in the game but it was called back due to a personal foul.

Kalei Meyer - DT - Kamehameha HS - Honolulu, HI
Kamehameha suffered their first loss on the year, losing 24-0 to the top ranked team in Hawai'i, 3-0 Punahou.

Matt Moen - TE - Steele HS - Cibolo, TX
Steele high school moved to 2-1 on the year with a 49-7 rout over 1-1 Tivy. Matt Moen had 3 receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown. Steele has only lost six regular-season games since 2008, with half of them coming against the Kerrville Tivy Antlers. When the matchup featured Johnny Manziel against Malcolm Brown, Tivy went 3-0.

Ahki Muhammad - WR - James Logan HS - Union City, CA
The Colts came away with a 21-18 win over San Ramon Valley to move to 2-1 on the season. Muhammad did it all for Logan. He rushed for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns and grabbed an interception to set up the go-ahead score.

"I just get in where I fit in," said Muhammad, "If they need me to score, if they need me to get an interception, if they need me to make tackles, I'm happy wherever."

Kevin Nutt - RB, CB - Edison HS - Fresno, CA
Edison crushed visiting Merced 45-0 and remains undefeated at 3-0.

Cliff Porter - DE, OL - Hug HS - Reno, NV
The Hug Hawks remain winless on the year with a 57-15 drubbing at the hands of undefeated Damonte Ranch.

Brandon Scott - TE - Yucaipa HS - Yucaipa, CA
Yucaipa dropped its first game of the year, getting crushed by visiting Vista Murrieta 52-13. Brandon Scott had five catches for 150 yards and a touchdown.

Blake Wright - RB - Edison HS - Fresno, CA
Edison crushed visiting Merced 45-0 and remains undefeated at 3-0.
