AGGIES AND WOLVERIES SET TO CLASH
When the Aggies and Wolverines take the court on Saturday, NM State holds the all-time lead at 5-1 with its lone blemish against Utah Valley coming in 2014. The Aggies dropped that game 66-61 in overtime at the UCCU Center.
Big key for New Mexico State will be to get off to a good start in the first half, as opponents have outscored Utah Valley 753-733. The Wolverines are a much better second-half team, outscoring opponents 845-755 through 20 games.
Conner Toolson paces a group of four UVU players averaging in double-figures with 14.2 points per game. Isaac Neilson is the team's second-leading scorers at 11.4 points per game while Brandon Randolph checks in with 10.5 points per game. Kenneth Ogbe rounds out the group of double-digit scorers at 10.4 points per game.
Neilson has paced the conference in rebounds for most of the year and enters Saturday's game with an average 9.6 rebounds while Randolph averages 6.2 per game. Neilson is also averaging 2.0 blocks for the Wolverines on defense. In addition to being the team's second-leading rebounder, Randolph paces the team with 4.6 rebounds per game (92).
Randolph leads the team in scoring in conference play for UVU, checking in with 13.2 points per game while Toolson trails him with 12.2 points per game. Ogbe is just short of averaging double-digits for the Wolverines at 9.6 points.
As a team, UVU is shooting a .436 clip from the field and .318 clip from 3-point range as they challenge the Aggies, who have held opponents to just a .283 shooting clip from downtown.
