No doubt Weir and the team exceeded expectations this year. With the exception of Chicago St, the conference is so much better than 3-4 years ago. We will have 3 20 win teams. Next year we might have 4. If UVU and UMKC keep improving next year should be even better. Seattle also was one minute away from knocking off CSB last weekend. Clearly the WAC name has helped all those programs grow.
Three wins for a 17-0 home record. Three wins for a 27-4 regular season record.
Take care of business and get ready for the tournament.
If we win out it's 26-4 KK. Is that the best regular season record ever in NMSU basketball history?
I seem to remember the 1969-1970 team went 23-2 in the regular season. I know they finished 27-3, but I think they won 4 games and lost 1 in the tourney. In those days they played less games. 30 games for you to the finals.
Baker and Huggins both shot well on Saturday vs UTRGV, hopefully they can carry that momentum into the next 3 + weeks. Now time for the defense to get back on track. CSUB did not play well at Seattle offensively.....hopefully it is their turn for a little slump.
