CSUB and GCU are solid teams. I would have liked NMSU to get, at least, a split on that road trip. I think what was more disappointing than the two losses was the way they lost both those games; a compete collapse offensively.
However, the home loss to Utah Valley is completely unacceptable. If they had put up a decent effort that night, NMSU would be the number 1 seed in the WAC tournament right now.
Overall, NMSU had a great season. This team has been very unselfish sharing the ball and winning together. That is why the UVU loss was completely out of character; there was no ball movement and a lot of selfish play.
Losing 3 of 4 WAC games, including at home to UVU, an 11 win team! No bueno. Hope we win the WAC tourney, but we are looking at a 14 seed tops. Yes, WAC regular season is important too. Also, where are all those thousands of fans that supposedly weren't showing up because of the Lobo losses? And Menzies?
It's still a great season. We finished 25-5. It's a great start going into next year. Next year squad will fit the system that Weir is trying to run. Just imagine the horror GCU and Bakersfield will have when guarding AJ Harris and Sidy Ndir. I believe Ndir should get a medical redshirt so he will probably return next year as a sophomore.
I'm not sure how next season's team will layout, but I do think Harris and Ndir bring an element this team lacks... QUICKNESS! This season's Aggies play hard, fast, and they run the court very well. They are a good team but they don't possess great quickness.

Cause finishing the regular season with less than 10 losses is much more important than winning the WAC.
Should do both both. MM Lover!!
Only the year after RE,,,GGIE RE,,,GGIE RE,,,GGIE left. His OCC Schedule after that,,,, cupcake!!!! Remember 1-14 against the Holier than Thou MW, and 3-15 against the loBlows!!!! Another MM LOVER,,, What took you so long??
Wait a minute... Are we trying to diminish what Paul Weir has accomplished or pump up what Menzies did here prior?... Confused. With the exception of the UVU game, Paul Weir did pretty much what was expected by Aggie fans. Can we say the same thing for Menzies' teams? I liked Menzies but his teams were notoriously slow starters. I remember losses to Air Force on the road, Wyoming on the at home recently and losses to Cal State Fullerton, Western Michigan, Long Beach St, Oral Roberts, Colorado State, Northern Colorado, and of course UNM. These were not power house programs. Menzies did loses to some good teams but in the OOC schedule our Aggies laid a few eggs too. Weir had this Aggie team better prepared coming out of the gates than Menzies in most years. The question now is can Weir close the deal in the WAC tourney like Menzies did also in most years?
