Good news. Nice to finally have a D.C. Back. I have been hearing from some contacts that Coach Locklin may be leaving the program. I haven't spoken to him since last year and haven't reached out to him yet. Coach Lock is a good coach and has done a very good job with the DTs the last three years. If this is true I wish him the best!!
Everything that I have heard is Coach Lock is gone. Rumor is the CFL. So much for continuity. Martin runs off another popular Coach. No secret that there was no love loss there. I was hoping Coach Lock would remain one more year so that he could replace Martin after another 2 win season.

New Mexico State: Per source, defensive tackles coach Kerry Locklin has left the NMSU staff to accept a coaching position in the CFL.
I wonder if his son will be leaving the NMSU football team? His younger son is a junior at Mayfield and a stud at qb, NMSU has offered him a football scholarship. IMO he really must have been unhappy to be leaving despite both of his sons playing football here in Las Cruces.
A coaching position in the CFL would seem like a good move from a position coach at NMSU. We are broke, in the last season of having a conference, and are going to try and hang on by our finger nails hoping conference realignment opens up a slot somewhere somehow. I don't think the man had to be unhappy at all, or maybe he was. Maybe he just came upon a great opportunity and took it. I am hopeful we can keep our FBS program, but given our small community and lack of enthusiasm for all sports (ie money), well.... I'll just continue to cross my fingers.
