Win out of conference against good competition. Next year our Aggies are in the Diamond Head Classic. The Aggies are part of a solid field that includes Power 5 conference schools Miami (Florida) and Southern California and good mid-majors in Hawaii, Akron, Davidson, Utah State and Middle Tennessee. Plus we play U of Illinois at the United Center in Chicago. Win out of conference games against some P-5 schools and the higher seed will come. It seems as though even the once "mighty" Mnt West is getting double digit seeds and are one and done. It's harder than it looks when you have to pretty much go 30-2 for a single digit seed as a mid-major. Ask Wichita St how 30-4 worked out for them getting a seed higher than a 10. I think the mid majors can thank the Mnt West for the low seeds after the Mnt West got 5 schools in the 2014 NCAA's they all choked especially the #4 seeded Loobs against mighty Harvard. So thank you!!!
Yeah, the way to get a better seed is to have your AD on the selection committee....like Davalos was when UNM got some ridiculous seeding only to pee down their leg.
Yes, and the same year NMSU got a bad seed and drew the previous year's national champion, Kentucky. Davalos' bosom buddy from his Kentucky days, C. M. Newton, was also on the selection committee. All just a coincidence, of course.
Congratulations on being part of a delusional fan base at UNM.
Congratulations on being part of a bigger collective delusional fan base that makes up the Mountain West Conference.
Congratulations on losing to NMSU in football and basketball this past year.
Congratulations on being part of a university that screws NMSU behind the scenes any time they have a chance.
Congratulations that UNM is in the MWC, a conference that had a losing record to the WAC in men's basketball (3-4).
Congratulations-you're in a one bid conference and the seeding Nevada got was the seeding they deserved.
You really want to be our friend Mr. Banned half of the posters on this site? Convince your moronic president and AD that NMSU belongs in the same conference as UNM. It makes sense on so many levels. You're not Arizona. You don't belong in the PAC-12. You're in the right conference, and NMSU belongs right there with you. If you guys every get that, congratulations.
