Tomorrow, Mario will speak and give the plan for coaching search, and when he does, I'm done talking about Weir ( until November ).
But until then, the catharsis continues.
1. Is Weir leaving a Win-Win-Win?
*If he succeeds at UNM, we have the 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery' knowledge that the only way they could win was with an Aggie.
*If he fails at UNM, we get the last Ha-ha, though hopefully we'll have moved on to success and won't care.
*If he middles and mucks around, we similarly get the predictable meltdown up river.
2. Did Weir sell himself short? People were saying ( rightly ) well, if you could make 3x your salary, you'd leave too.
$625,000 is not a triple. I think most of us would have figured him gone next year anyway, but to a higher echelon school and more money instead?
3. What does NMSU do about the buyout? If they forgive it, does that set bad precedent?
If they have to sue to get it, does that also set bad precedent?
