Pascal can say goodbye to the D-League. He will be in the NBA for years to come. He is more than ready. Glad he got to hone his skills against really good competition the last month instead of waiting his turn on the bench though. Man it would have been awesome if he would have stayed one more year.
I hope Pascal makes millions in the NBA and donates at least $11 per year to NMSU. We need the money and that is likely the only return on investment we will get from Pascal.
It sucks that Pascal left NMSU way too soon, just as Sim did. I guess we will never have great players stay at NMSU and become Seniors and lead us to NCAA victories as 99 other schools get to experience.
The way I see it we were robbed of 2 years of Sim being great and 2 years of Pascal being great. And we will get nothing to show for either situation happening as it did.
Kinda really really sucks when other schools get to have Juniors and Seniors lead their teams to NCAA victories, Top 25's all year and then the Sweet 16 or Elite 8, and at NMSU we get to see our would be Juniors and Seniors play in the D League and in China, while the team is left to rebuild each year.
I respectfully disagree, JT. The Duke's, UNC's and other blue bloods get the kids that leave early. That is super rare for NMSU. Sim left early because he is huge and he stated that guys his size have very limited basketball careers. I tend to agree with him. Siakam left, was drafted in the first round, was a starter half the season, was brought in as a ringer for the D-League playoffs and will now join the Raptors on their playoff journey. He clearly made the right decision. I know we are all bummed out about what is going on with the program. But I see Sim and Pascal as proof of our success and hope that the success will continue. Just my 2 cents.
