And this taking shape while the trader was out of the Country coaching the Canadian under 18 team. Weir leaves town for 10 days and the NUM athletic department turns into a raging dumpster fire, imploding in scandal and corruption, and the lead recruiter he hangs his hat on as his own accomplishments packs his bags. Now lets hope Hsu's recruits see the writing on the wall and turn tail before the NCAA and NM AG drop the hammer on NUM. Karma baby!!!
Marc Hsu was the Traitor's connection to players from the Dominican Republic. And, also his tie into tops JUCOs around the country. It will be interesting to see where the Traitor finds his players now. Lobo fans are hoping Weir's absence working on the U18 Canadian team staff will pay dividends with Canadian prospects down the road.
At NMSU, Menzies filled the coffer with talent giving the Traitor a running start to build his coaching reputation. At UNM, he is digging a deep hole "the Pit" to start his rebuilding process. Most of UNM's (Neal's) talent has bolted; and now his top recruiter (Hsu) has left him in the lurch... like he did to Bopp, Sanders, and the Aggie players. Like Theus, the Traitor will find the grass isn't always greener on the other side... after leaving NMSU.
The other thing this may say is that Weir and Hsu were not very close, or alternatively, they are two peas in a pod regarding their ability to cover up their 'real' personalities. Hsu, even for a low level assistant, has moved an amazing number of times. Make no mistake, this a a huge blow for Weir and Loob basketball.
If it means LJ Figueroa will be a Hilltopper in the future instead of a Lobo then I am happy. UNM's hiring of the Traitor has done nothing but take from NMSU and award the Lobos. A true Aggie would never be so selfish as to help the enemy hurt NMSU.
